All in a Day

What a day we have had. I should be going to bed instead of writing this, but oh well. As some of you know we did the closing paper work for our house on Tuesday. It was an exciting thing that made me feel like an actual adult (could it be?!). We had been told that it would record the next day (Wednesday) and then we would have possession. Not the case. Yesterday went by with much difficulty and problems and in the end, they said that probably the next day we would have possession.

That brings us to today. We got up bright and early and fixed some paperwork that they had messed up on for the closing and ran it out to West Jordan. After that I had my weekly OB/GYN appointment. Trent had the day off so I left Jane home with him and ran up to the appointment. The doctor did his little exam and said that I was barely dilated to a 2 and that I hadn't really thinned at all. Good news. Then he checked the baby's position. He wasn't quite sure with just feeling so he brought in an ultrasound machine. He put the wand high on my belly and immediately said, "Yep, we have a breech baby here". So all those kicks to my bottom and dancing on my bladder were actual kicks and dancing because little man is head up! So tomorrow I get to go into Labor and Delivery and have a procedure called External cephalic version where they try to manually, from the outside, turn the baby around. It has a 50% success rate. If they can't turn him, I will have to have a C-section. If, in the process of turning him, Little Man's heart rate should drop or something else go wrong, I will have to have an emergency C-section. But if they can turn him, I will be able to wait it out and have him normally. That would be the best option. He is healthy and happy he just doesn't like to turn. Already a trouble maker :)

After I got home from my appointment, Trent started packing things up in his Blazer in hopes that we'd soon get possession of the house and he could start the repairs out there. Sure enough, at around 1:00pm our Realtor called to tell us the house was ours!!!!!!!!! That's right, it's official, we have a house!! Trent ran out to the house and started knocking the bad wall down and my little bro met him out there and started ripping out the carpet. By the time Jane and I got there around 4:30, the wall was gone and the carpet removed. My mom had also beat us out there and cleaned all the bathrooms! I can not say what a huge blessing family is!!!! Later my Aunt and Trent's parents showed up and everyone helped either with the house or with watching Jane. Trent's still out at the house framing up the new wall and tomorrow, if all goes well at the hospital, he'll go out and finish up the wall so that we can start painting on Saturday!

What a long and exciting and scary day. Here's praying that Little Man will turn and Trent can work miracles with sheet rock!

Strawberry Days Rodeo

Last night we went to the Strawberry Days Rodeo in Pleasant Grove. This is one of my favorite rodeos of the season because of the fresh strawberries in cream they sell. Ah! It's to die for! Anyways, we went a little early so that we could take Jane to the Carnival. She was a little hesitant at first--not quite sure what to make of all the people and rides and things going on. We had her ride with Trent on the carousal and she was so scared she was shaking at first, but by the time she got off, she was smiling. She then got to go on the little train, a big slide, little boats, and then on the train again. By the last ride, she was loving it! She even managed to take off her seat belt on the train, stand up and press the buttons that made choo choo sounds! She got caught by the ride operator and they had to do an emergency stop to strap her back in. Trouble maker :)After the carnival we headed over to the rodeo grounds. Jane had been looking forward to seeing horses this whole week so when she saw her first one, she lit up!! It was so fun watching her watch the animals. She'd wave hello to them and pat her lap for them to come to her. We were joined at the rodeo by Trent's brother, his wife, and their daughter Addy (Jane's favorite cousin) and then my brother and his fiance came as well. It was quite an entertaining rodeo. A lot of great riders, wonderful strawberries, and and getting to watch Jane enjoy it so much with her cousin just topped it all off. Jane even got to touch a horse! It was like Christmas for her! Next week Trent's going to take her to the Lehi rodeo. I think we have a little cowgirl in the making!

He Did It!!!!!

Trent just called me from work to tell me that he found out he PASSED the NCLEX exam he took on Friday!!!!!!!!!! He's now officially an RN!!! I am so stinkin' proud of him. He has worked his behind off for this for years now and has spent the last month studying up a storm. With his hard work and answered prayers he has now accomplished his long time goal of becoming a nurse! Thank you sweetheart for showing me the power of perseverance and being an awesome example of hard work! You did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

House Update

For those of you who don't know, we are in the process of buying a house. It has been a long and painful process because we decided on a short sale, but we feel good about the house and hope that everything works out. We got into contract on June 2nd and since then it's been a roller coaster of emotions. One day things seem really great and like they are moving forward, and then the next it seems like the bottom falls out. Who knew that buying a house would be so much stress?!?!?!? Hopefully we will be able to close on our loan at the end of next week or the beginning of the following week. Cross your fingers. We have to be out of our apartment by June 30th and the house (which we have named Rocky) needs some love before we move in so we were hoping to have at least a week or so to get things done. Needless to say, we'll be cutting it close. But with the help of family and friends, hopefully things can go fast. While this whole process has been frustrating, we are grateful to be able to buy a house at this time and look forward to raising our family there for the next little while. Now we just pray it all works out :) Here's a picture of our hopeful home Rocky
