Eclipse

Ok, so I'm done with the series now (except for the book that hasn't come out yet obviously) and New Moon is still my favorite and I think it's because I'm a Jacob fan. . .I want Bella to end up with Jacob because I think that he's the best for her. However, I think that might be impossible considering that she has to become a vampire or the Volturi will kill her! Oh and the fact that she goes into the depths of despair whenever Edward is gone. I am really interested in reading Breaking Dawn and I hope it ties up everything.

I spent all last week reading so this week has been catch up week. I don't mind, though. A good book is worth it! A big thanks to Trent and Jane for dealing with the slug on the couch.

New Moon

So I just finished the second book in the Twilight series (curiosity got the best of me) and I LOVED it! I got through it in less than 24 hours! It was so much better than the first book, in my opinion. I really like Jacob Black and I wish that I could be Alice (she's my favorite). A special thank you to my book supplier, Lorna.

Oh, and speaking of my book supplier, Lorna lent me a GREAT book called Austenland. If anyone is looking for a good, quick, down-to-earth, funny, romantical book to read, pick up Austenland by Shannon Hale. Good times!

Jane

The day before Jane turned one, we were able to have her pictures taken by one of our friends, Anna Tenney. We were AMAZED at how beautiful they turned out! If anyone is looking for a good photographer for a VERY reasonable price, let me know and I can get you in touch with her. She's amazing! Jane was such a good girl for the shoot, even though she had a bad fever that day. What a trooper!

Happy Birthday Jane!

Here's a birthday shout out to my favorite little one, Jane!!! A year ago today Jane came into the world and it has been an adventure since! She is so fun to have in our family. She likes to talk and clap her hands and laugh. In the past year she's learned to roll over, crawl, feed herself, do some sign language, flip through books, and charm complete strangers.

Today for her birthday we actually took it easy. She had a fever from the day/night before that never went away so we ended up taking her to the Dr (poor thing) but after that, and a quick nap, we went to the zoo and looked at all the fun animals. Jane LOVES the zoo because she loves animals so I hope it was fun for her for her birthday. We made her her favorite meal (beef stroganoff) and she ate her first birthday cup cake EVER! (well, maybe eat is the wrong word. . .she destroyed her first birthday cupcake ever. . .). Saturday we will have her birthday party with a Luau theme. I can't wait!

We love you little Jane. Thanks for making everything more fun!

Twilight. . yep, I jumped on that train

I finally gave in and read the book Twilight. I had heard from every single female in my life that it was the best book EVER. I got through it in 2 days and it was a fast read. However, and don't judge me, but it wasn't my favorite. I'll be interested to see the movie and see if that does anything for me. Maybe it was my mood while reading it, maybe it was all the hype and I felt let down, I don't know. Your thoughts. . . ?

A Child's Prayer

So lately we have been trying to teach Jane some sign language. Signs such as "more" and "all done" and "drink". The other day she was eating in her booster and she folded her arms. I had no idea what this meant because we'd never taught her any sign that was even close to that. But all through her meal, she kept doing it. Then on Wednesday night, Trent and I sat down for dinner with Jane in her booster seat and began saying a prayer on the food. I peeked at Jane during the prayer and she looked from Trent to me and then folded her little arms. It was so precious!! So that's what she was doing the other day. . .she's learned that whenever we sit down to eat, we fold our arms and say a prayer. Now whenever we say "Jane, it's time to pray" she folds her arms and waits for us to pray. What a doll!

This is how she folds her little arms. We had to help her for the picture because she doesn't really perform on cue in front of the camera. . . oh well.
