Our dear friends the Kinghorns made a trip down to see us last weekend. We definitely needed a "sanity" weekend and we got it! We got to cuddle little Kalie, the kids got to play, and we got to play games and catch up. Turns out that the DePolas are pregnant with TWINS!! We are so excited for them! They been trying for a while and now they get a 2-for-1! So exciting :)
On Saturday we all went to the zoo. It was hot and crowded and we got there later than we had planned but it was fun to watch the kids check out all the animals and get to be there with friends. What fun Memories!

Bubba's Big Boy Blanket
Grant moved out of his crib last month and into his "Big Boy Bed. We had tried this move once before and it was a disaster, but this time it magically worked. He's been doing so well in the toddler bed! When Jane moved from her crib to her toddler bed, I made her a special quilt (mainly because toddler bedding is hard to find and usually a joke or super expensive when you do). So I decided to do the same for Grant. I've had the material since last year and it's just been sitting in the closet waiting for me but over Conference weekend I got it tied and I finished up the edges this week. I'm happy with how it turned out and Grant loves sleeping under the dinosaurs!
Happy Easter
We had a wonderful Easter. With multiple egg hunts(two from their Aunt Charlene, one at G-ma Bassett's party, one the neighbor kids made for them, one for the HOA, and a neighborhood one) and a killer party at G-ma Bassett's, we were completely pooped by the time Easter was over, but it was so much fun!
On the Saturday morning before Easter, the Easter bunny left us some magic jelly beans to plant.
Jane and Grant had a blast planting them in the dirt with their friends Ella and Seth.
The next morning, we peeked out the window and those magic jelly beans had grown into flower suckers--OVERNIGHT! Cool.
That bunny also filled our baskets with yummy treats and fun little gifts. Thanks Mr. Bunny!
We had my parent's over for Easter dinner that night. I cooked the whole meal (spiral ham, Au gratin potatoes, asparagus, and lemon bars) for under $15!!!!! I love a good deal. It makes the food taste so much better! :)
Happy Easter!

The Gang
We are so blessed to live where we do. We love our city and our neighborhood. In our loop of houses, on the north side (where we live) is a gang of kids that all hang out. Jane and Grant have been adopted into this group of kids. All of the other kids are older than mine, but they treat Jane and Grant so well and I'll love them forever for that.

AEMT

I'm done!!! I did it!! It was a hard 10 weeks but I made it. I'm now, officially, and Advanced EMT. The class was a joke--the "teachers" didn't know how to teach, the practical time was laughable, and we never knew what exactly we were going to be tested on (until we were handed the test). That said, I feel like I accomplished a lot in those 10 weeks. I learned soooo much from reading that HUGE text book (I can now have actual conversations with Trent about medical stuff), I made new friends, I was able to balance my time between being a mommy and being a student (some times better than others), and I was able to face some fears and overcome them. While this certification isn't that big of a deal to most, it's a huge deal to me. It represents a new, braver me. It showed me that I can do hard things. And the patch is pretty freakin' sweet, too! Yay!
