On a more religious note. . .

I just found out that the beloved Prophet of the Church, Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley has passed away. My first recation was saddness. Pres. Hinckley was the first prophet that I have ever really connected to. His words have brought so much comfort to me in my life, and his shining example is known world wide. My second reaction was happiness. Peace. I'm so happy that he is able to be with his wonderful wife again. While I will miss him terribly, I just have to keep thinking, "He's at home with his wife. Everything is as it should be."

I am so grateful that we have prophets in our day to lead, guide, and warn us. I know that my Savior lives. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I am forever grateful for the knowledge and comfort that the gospel brings to our family. I'm grateful for the temple and the blessing that lie within it's walls. I know that I can be with my husband and daughter forever. I will miss Pres. Hinckley, but the gospel carries on.

Schedules work!!!

Jane has been on her schedule for a week now and she's doing so well!! She takes 2-3 naps a day and sleeps from 8:30 pm to around 7:00 or 8:00 am! We are loving it! She sleeps pretty deep, too. As you can see from the pics, she throws her fit, and then she's out! gotta love it!

New Year, New Beginnings

Happy New Year everyone! We had a wonderful holiday season with Jane's first Christmas (Santa was kind), a rocking New Year's Eve, and are now on to keeping New Year's Resolutions. blah. Dang diet and exrcise. Trent has started his internship at the Hospital in the Surgical ICU and is so far really enjoying it. We were sad that he had to leave the PACU, the unit he has worked at for over 3 years, but change is good and he is learning new things. Jane has decided she no longer wants to sleep. This is truely unfortunate because Trent and I still very much would like to sleep. Turns out that we need to have her on a schedule (I fight schedules myself so I'm not sure how I'm supposed to enforce it for someone else). We have tried getting her to nap and certain times, eat at certain times, and she now has a bedtime. We kind of feel like strick parents, but apparently it is good for her, so that's all that matters. She still is without teeth, but is learning new things every day. We hope to have her crawling before long. She is making some promising efforts. :) And I have decided to take a few community classes: Beginning Italian and Self Defense. I'm super excited, if for nothing else, to just get out of the house a few times a week! Hooray!

Santa! I know him!! I know him!!!!!

We went to the 2nd annual Bassett family Christmas party this past weekend. Jane had fun playing with all of her cousins and got to meet the big man himself. . . SANTA!!!! He even brought her an early Christmas present--a baby cell phone (yeah, we're in trouble). She didn't cry the first time, but the second time seh sat on his lap she started to get uneasy and by the time we set her there for a third time, she had had enough. We are so excited for Christmas and for Santa to come. Holidays are so much more fun now that Jane is in our family!

Jane and her BFF

Jane and her cousin Addy are the best of friends! Jane just thinks that anything Addy does is the greatest thing ever. Here's a clip of them playing the other day. . .

Laughing All the Way. . .

Here's a clip of Trent getting Jane to laugh.
