Blessed

Over the past month we have truly been blessed by family and friends. It was about a month ago that we closed on our home and had a week to put everything together. Our families jumped right in to help. We had people over at the house from 9 in the morning till past midnight almost every night knocking down walls, tearing out carpet, building walls, painting, cleaning, mudding, taping, and working on the yard. With no air conditioning in the house, everyone just kept going. We also had family take Jane (who would seriously cry when we'd pull up to the house each day because she hated sitting there all day) and bring in meals. In 8 days we were able to fix the things that needed fixing, paint the ENTIRE house, and get new carpet. A miracle that would not have happened without the help of family.
Then came moving day. Another hot day but family showed up and moved us from our little student apartment to the house. My sweet mother, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law and her kids stayed at the apartment with me to help clean. Once again without AC. When the heat got to me, I left and they kept cleaning. I came back later that night to finish up and there wasn't much to be done. Meanwhile, Trent and the rest of the family moved us into the house. My wonderful sisters-in-law unpacked my whole kitchen and by the time I got there that night, we had a bed made and ready to sleep in, Jane had a crib ready to go, the kitchen was not only put away, it was stocked with food and other sweet treasures we are still finding, the baby's room was set up with the pack-n-play and filled with gifts, and each bathroom was stocked with TP and soap. I couldn't sleep that night, I just kept walking around and around the house in disbelief that it had all come together. Two days later little man Grant came into our lives and once again family was there. There to watch Jane (thank you Charlene), there to welcome our son into the world, there that evening with gifts and well wishes, and calls throughout the week. Our new ward and neighbors even jumped in to help, bringing in meals and stopping by to visit. And we've been blessed to have so many good friends call and check up on us.
It has been a wild month with buying a home, moving, renovations, and a new baby and I KNOW that we couldn't have done any of it without the help of others. We are truly blessed to have the love and support that we've had and don't know how to ever repay those who have given of their time and energy and means to make this all come together for us. We are forever thankful.

Whit, the reason people are so willing to help is because we all know that you would drop anything to help someone else! You deserve every good thing. Love you more than my luggage!
